- Blind dissident Chen arrives in US
High-profile Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng has arrived in the United States after being flown out of Beijing with his immediate family.
The blind activist, who came to prominence exposing forced abortions in the Chinese countryside, has told reporters he is grateful that the Chinese government had been dealing with "restraint and calm".
Mr Chen was at the centre of a diplomatic crisis between China and the US after he dramatically escaped home detention and fled to the American embassy in the Chinese capital.

United States president Barack Obama has hailed progress made in tackling Europe's economic crisis at the end of the Group of Eight summit after world leaders backed keeping Greece in the eurozone.
